They are expected and understandably normal at the initial session.
When visiting my office, you will be made to feel comfortable and secure in a professional environment. Our initial session together will be a time to establish rapport, gather background information and develop a plan together to set your goals and expectations. The plan will be used to monitor and measure your progress, achievements and readiness for termination from therapy.
I understand that there might be a day when time might be an issue. Under these circumstances, I will offer a session via telephone after the initial face to face session. Getting better is work that takes commitment and perseverance. Collaboratively working together, your goals are reachable.
